After the success of his piano album (released through Sony Classical) and his tour in 2018, Alistair McGowan is back with the show that brings together all his talents. Alongside tracks from the album, Alistair will play some other short classic piano pieces: from Gershwin to Grieg, Mompou to Mendelssohn, Satie to Schubert. Join Alistair as he talks a little about the history of each piece, the composer and his own connection to the music. Expect a lot of beautiful music (with the odd mistake!), some interesting stories and a sprinkling of his trademark impressions.

It features the swinging and creatively dynamic rhythm section of Leon Greening on piano, Mat Skelton on drums and Adam King on bass.  Damon Brown is one of the finest trumpet-vocalist-composers in Europe. Back on tour from South Korea, join him for a night of soulful Jazz with this amazing group.

Critically acclaimed, Clement Regert's Wild Card is a melting-pot of musical ideas, fusing urban rhythms, Hard-bop and grooves with Latin and jazz attitude. For tonight’s show they have a stellar line up which comprises of fiery alto saxophonist Jim Knight (Cee lo Green, Beverly Knight) backed up by the core organ trio made of Jim Watson on Hammond Organ (Kurt Elling, Manu Katche), Sophie Alloway on Drums (Lydian collective), and French guitarist/band leader Clement Regert (Liane Carroll, Tim Garland). You can expect to hear their famous mix of Afro-jazz, Hard-bop, Samba and raw funk numbers.

One of the UK’s most versatile and creative cellists, and a rare exponent of jazz cello, Shirley draws on a unique background to present a fresh, new approach to the cello. Her trio takes the listener on an improvised journey through a programme that weaves together classical music, jazz and world music from North Africa, Middle East, Balkans, and South America as well as original compositions. The group features two of the UK’s leading lights in world-influenced jazz – John Crawford on piano, and Demi Garcia Sabat on percussion.

The Thumping Tommys are a London based Folk/Bluegrass/Americana band. They have toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe captivating audiences with their heady brew of barn-storming, blues infused Irish, American and English folk music. Their debut album of original music is released TONIGHT and showcases the versatility of the band, from Dylan-esque ballads to thumping bluegrass and devilish blues hooks. A lively trio with Joe Web on piano, Tom Farmer on bass and Shane Forbes on drums, playing original music is inspired by Brad Mehldau, Keith Jarrett and Oscar Peterson (amongst others).

Joe grew up in Neath, Wales and began studying jazz piano when he was 12 years old. In 2009, he attended the royal welsh college of music and drama for four years studying with some of the country’s finest jazz musicians. Since graduating, he has established himself in London and is highly regarded as a leading force on the U.K jazz scene.

The Big Smoke Family are purveyors of voodoo funk - a unique mix of punchy horns, heavy street beats, chants, samples and scratching. Following in the footsteps of modern funk bands such as Galactic and Trombone Shorty, and drawing inspiration from Mardi Gras Indians, James Brown, The New Mastersounds, The Herbaliser and Eddie Bo.

The BSF are electrifying performers with credits that include Dr. John, Maceo Parker, Zigaboo, Ernest Ranglin, Seal and Tom Jones. They can regularly be seen playing sell out gigs at Ronnie Scott’s, The Hootannay, Pizza Express, Bussey Building and many more and have played memorable festivals dates at Bestival, Secret Garden Party and the London Jazz Festival to name a few.
