Ian Shaw returns to The Bear Club with his inimitable solo show sizzling with wit and dazzling with songs old and new. Shaw is one of the most distinctive, original and creative jazz singers that the UK has produced, as well as being a talented pianist, songwriter, presenter and record producer. 

Twice voted “Best Jazz Vocalist” at the prestigious BBC Jazz Awards, his recorded output includes three US releases and he regularly performs in Canada and the Far East as well as the Continent. He can be heard weekly on Jazz FM presenting the Ronnie Scott’s Radio Show which is also syndicated worldwide.

This celebrated showman is much in demand for performances with his regular piano trio and as a featured soloist with big bands and orchestras both in the UK and abroad, alongside his powerhouse one-man-shows where his razor-sharp comedy and skills as a raconteur particularly shine.

Trumpeter Brant Tilds has recently returned from New York, where he recorded a new album of his compositions and Free Improvisations with his American Quartet, heavily influenced by modern American music of the last half century, to be released next year.  In Europe he performs with vibraphonist Roger Beaujolais, the Italian drummer Livio Polisano, and fretless bassist Rob Statham.  They'll be performing new music as well as  Jazz standards with a new sound.

Hammond specialist Gary Baldwin first came to prominence with the Tommy Chase Band, since then he has performed with Georgie Fame , Ian Shaw, , Jim Mullen, Alan Barnes, Guy Barker and Ronnie Cuba, as well as being the featured soloist with The Echoes of Ellington Jazz Orchestra.

Studio work includes the acclaimed 'Portishead' (Dummy) and 'Morcheeba' (Do you have a name). Gary is also a member of the Ronnie Scott All Stars. More recently he was the house organist for the Royal Albert Hall Blues Festival playing with Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor, Van Morrison and Mick Hucknell. 

Special guest Roger Beaujolais came to public attention with jump jive supremos The Chevalier Brothers’ & was then a prominent artist for Acid Jazz Records under the names of ‘The Beaujolais Band’ & ‘Vibraphonic’.before moving on to  more acoustic jazz . Session work includes artists as diverse as Robert Plant, Alexander O’Neal, Morrissey, Paul Weller,  Kirsty MacColl & Fairground Attraction .

The band is completed by Simon Fernsby on guitar & Pete Cater on drums, they are featured on the recently released and highly acclaimed  album  "Point Blank" by Tony Kofi & the Organisation.

Irene Rae has toured the UK as a solo artist with 3 EPs and a solo album under her belt and in more recent times, accompanied by her band, who feature on the 2015 EP Hidden Secret.  She was touted as ‘’one to watch’’ during the tour of Hidden Secret with a 4 star rating  - ‘’moving and elegant song writing’’ from Maverick Magazine and reviews such as a ‘’strong voice and sophisticated song writing’’ from R2R Magazine. Some memorable moments include playing support for Midge Ure, Hazel O'Connor, John Power, The Levellers (acoustic), Owen Paul and Declan Bennett. Her style and lyrics have been compared to Joni Mitchell and Beverly Craven. 

The Light Game is the first album for Rae and her band due for release on BimbleBug Records on 9th July 2019 on iTunes, Amazon and direct from the artist on www.irenerae.com, with a digital release due for Christmas 2019 to include Spotify and all other streaming sites. There will be two single releases from the album due in March and again in June 2019 – with accompanying videos – these will be available on Youtube.

Rory Ingham (British Jazz Awards Rising Star) brings his trombone-led group to the Bear Club in Luton, presenting a high-energy set of brand new music written by Rory. This show is part of his Summer Euro Tour. He was chosen as ‘One To Watch’ in the Shape of Jazz To Come section of Jazzwise. Most recently, he was announced winner of the 2018 British Trombone Society award Student of The Year.

Rory set up the award-winning band Bonsai (formerly Jam Experiment) that have played at many high-profile British jazz festivals (inc. Cheltenham, Love Supreme and London), and have been featured several times on BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM. They released the album 'Bonsai Club’ in May 2019 on Ubuntu Music.

A powerful, raunchy rhythm & blues 6-piece, Chris Lord and her Blues Express produce classic jazzy blues with exuberance and joy, taking pains to dig out some rare gems of lesser-known tracks.  The band is driven by the superb voice of Chris Lord supported by a heady mix of sax, flute, keyboards and guitar all built upon a first class rhythm section.  Joining Chris in the band are soulful tenor sax/flute player Tom Domagala; Rick Booth on guitar; Raf Ruocco on bass, Rick Philpott on drums and David Baldwin on keyboards - all great musicians with extensive experience and an impressive musical pedigree.

 Tango Jazz Quartet from Argentina, mixes the melodic and rhythmic patterns of Tango with the harmonies and improvisation of Jazz. This new approach to Tango and Jazz has received an enthusiastic reaction both in Argentina as well as internationally. The music of Tango Jazz Quartet goes from the traditional tango to the music of Astor Piazzola without ever abandoning the territory of jazz.
