Sara performed guest vocals at a jazz set earlier in the year, and it was clear from the first note that she must return to The Bear with her own quartet. So here she is, with an excellent line-up of musicians, and her own unique, delicate and often surprising take on some standards, plus some original compositions.

HAPPY SHARK COMEDY PRESENTS...

PETE FIRMAN with David Morgan, Rory O'Hanlon and Lee Kern

Widely regarded as the UK's leading comedy magician, Pete will be making a rare intimate appearance to headline this incredible line up. Pete has been all over the TV in these last few years and has been consistently blowing away his audiences on his sold out headline theatre tours. This is a great opportunity to see up close in the words of The Telegraph, "The new poster boy for British Comedy Magic".

The night will be competed by David Morgan, who you will recognise from I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here Now! The bill is completed by Rory O'Hanlon and Lee Kern, making this one of the strongest bills we've ever put on.

Book now through www.wegottickets.com/happysharkcomedy

This is an extra special show as all of the proceeds for this one will go to LAMP, a local charity supporting young homeless people in Luton.
There is an option to add an extra donation to the charity when purchasing your tickets, if you so wish.

Since then he's released his own music on debut EP 'Something In The Water' and has been named in the BBC Music Sound of 2017.

SPLIT WHISKERS

Split Whiskers have their roots firmly planted in Chicago blues, crossing boundaries into rock, Americana and more than a hint of the Delta. The band’s fame is spreading and they are becoming one of the busiest bands at blues venues around the UK, in particular in great demand on the festival circuit. Their superb musicianship, along with their infectious humour on stage, promises a great evening’s entertainment.

SATURDAY 17 DEC

CC SMUGGLERS

CC-167 - compressed.jpg

The band from Beds started out as “guerrilla buskers”, hijacking queues waiting to see other artists, or commandeering underground trains and escalators. Fast forward to the summer of 2016 and CC Smugglers are selling out venues in their own right, and stealing the headlines at the Cambridge, Cornbury and Glastonbury Festivals.

We welcome them back to one of their favourite venues, for their last show of the year.

We expect tickets to fly. So don't hang about.

IAN SHAW - SOLO AT CHRISTMAS

Ian insisted on returning to The Bear Club for a solo night of jazz and Christmas high jinx. If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing this man live, then this is the perfect setting, in a club he loves and with a piano that obeys his every command.

Makes a perfect present too.

Ian Shaw has been described as one of the most distinctive, original and creative jazz singers that the UK has produced, as well as being a talented pianist, song writer, presenter and record producer.

Twice voted “Best Jazz Vocalist” at the prestigious BBC Jazz Awards, the recorded output of the London based singer and consummate showman includes three US releases; his 14th album, “The Theory Of Joy” has just been released and this is the material that he is touring currently.

FRIDAY 23 DEC

CHRISTMAS 'EVE' 'EVE' PARTY
with THE THUMPING TOMMY'S

We've never stayed open this close to Christmas, but you asked for it, so here it is... Christmas Party 'Bear' style. There'll be mulled wine, mince pies, special Christmas Gin & Tonic and warming spiced malts.

There'll also be some crackin' music....

The Thumping Tommys specialise in old-time music. Having played at many great festival stages, bars and cafes, they play a heady brew of Irish and American folk music performed with a distinctly English style, and are fast establishing themselves as one of the most entertaining groups performing in the UK right now.

It'll be just like 'Fozzywigs'. Don't know the reference? Then you don't know your Muppets.
