FOR TICKETS GO HERE

For this special one off work in progress show, we have two of our very favourite acts performing their brand new hour long shows before taking them on tour and on London runs. Although both of these guys have been with us fairly recently this is a great chance to see their full shows and whole load of new material you won't have seen before. Clinton's tour seems to be selling out everywhere and Jarlath's last hour long show was genuinely in my all time top three comedy hours that I've ever seen, so this should be one hell of a night! As an added bonus TICKETS ARE ONLY A FIVER!

London based four piece Fraser & the Alibis play the hippest in Bop, Blues and Boogaloo. Inspired by the big tenor sax sounds of Dexter Gordon and the screaming Organ of Jimmy Smith, the band play original tunes, deeply entrenched in the roots of the music. With a nod to 'Sam Butera and the Winesses',  Fraser & the Alibis channel the intensity and feel good effect of the swing and jive music of the dance hall era, combined with the intricacies and virtuosities of later jazz movements.

The band features some of the most in-demand, young improvisers on the London scene. After playing approximately 400 gigs together over the last decade, they released their much anticipated debut Album in October 2017.

Fraser Smith - Tenor Sax
Joe Webb - Organ
Harry Sankey - Guitar
Gethin Jones - Drums

RED KITE

JAZZ

DOOR 7PM / MUSIC 8.30PM

£10 / £9 / £5 (BK)

EMAIL TO RESERVE

Red Kite is a quintet led by pianist Esben Tjalve joined by the highly skilled musicians and seasoned lights of the UK jazz scene: Fulvio Sigurta (trumpet), Hannes Riepler (guitar), Jasper Høiby (bass) and Tim Giles (drums).

The music is a seamless blend of electronic and acoustic sounds set in a jazz format combining the complex with accessibility and the composed with the improvised. The compositions create a musical universe that varies from cinematic meditative soundscapes to groovy noir tunes with reminiscent echoes of Miles Davis “Bitches Brew”. As a result the structure of the music allows for the improvised parts to interact and co-exist with the written material leaving the individual musician space to create their own sound within the band.

Red Kite is recording their new album live at the Bear Club TONIGHT. After a week of touring around the UK the band will be in great shape for recording a live album.
