Brown Horse make twangy and thoughtful indie rock, delicately arranged, but unafraid of building a yowling wall of guitars, accordion, banjo and pedal steel should the need arise...
Distorted, teary-eyed and country-tinged, this is music for long lonely drives and late, late nights in strange places. Their debut album, ‘Reservoir’, was released in January 2024 to wide critical acclaim and their second album, ‘All The Right Weaknesses’ touches on what being a band is all about. It was recorded quickly, and mostly with live, full-band takes and represented a leap forward in their sound. Rockier, more raucous and more muscular.

““Verna Bloom”, named after the American character actress who appeared in High Plains Drifter…[is] a moving thicket of steel, accordion and Crazy Horse guitars, angled skywards by a peeling solo. ”
“…a freshness that is energised and energising, not forced or overthought. All of this tells of the band’s increasing confidence in both their vision and the effortlessly cohesive way in which they realise it.”
