We're book-ending 2025 at The Bear Club with Cody Lee who, having opened the year back in February, returns with a new show, a new line-up and even a new name as we welcome “Cody Lee & His Rhythm Keys”.
Cody is a versatile piano player and vocalist, wise beyond his years of playing. He draws inspiration from the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, and Albert Ammons. Whether it's jazz, foot-stomping boogie-woogie, down-and-dirty blues, piano-pumping rock 'n' roll, or swing, you can expect a riveting show.
Cody Lee's love for music started at age 8, when he first fell for the irresistible charm of the Boogie Woogie piano. As a lifelong performer, he assembled this powerhouse band to bring together the best of the classic blues, jazz, and swing genres—all while maintaining the spontaneous, high-energy spirit of live performance. From the first riff to the last note, Cody Lee & His Rhythm Keys blend seamless harmonies with tight rhythms, creating a sound that’s both vintage and fresh.
Their diverse lineup features some of the finest musicians in the scene, each one bringing their own unique flavor to the mix. Together, they create a big-band experience in a six-piece package, perfectly capturing the energy of a bygone era.
Cody will be accompanied by Maisie-Jo Riley (tenor sax and backing vocals), Todd Knapp (drums and backing vocals), Jim Knowler (guitar and backing vocals), Orlando Shearer (double bass and backing vocals) and special guest Matthew Edwards on harmonica.
