Kris Drever is among Scotland’s most acclaimed and distinctive contemporary musicians, celebrated for his warm voice, virtuosically expressive guitar playing, and imaginative, evocative songwriting.
Raised in the Orkney Islands, he has carved out a unique place at the intersection of traditional folk and modern acoustic music—both as a solo artist and as one-third of the award-winning trio Lau.
Over the years, Kris has won numerous accolades, including BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Best Singer, Best Original Song, and Best Group with Lau. His solo work blends lyrical depth and authenticity with expertly pitched arrangements, exploring themes of place, identity, and social change with clarity, compassion, and poetic insight.
He’ll perform brand-new songs from his latest album, alongside highlights from his back catalogue and storied interpretations of traditional material.
Support is from fantastic singer-songwriter Annie Dressner.
“Those who appreciate the likes of John Martyn and Davey Graham would find a lot of common ground with Drever’s style”
“This evening is packed with could-be-standards, songs that ooze charm and warmth, songs with choruses to sing and melodies that you will hum long into the night”
“He is simply one of the best singer-songwriters to come out of Scotland in many years”
