Marco Piccioni is a blues rock and jazz guitarist and singer based in London. A graduate from Berklee College of Music, Marco has worked in New York, Italy, and the UK. He was part of the band Collocutor, led by Tamar Osborn, and has worked with various UK artists, including Fiona Ross, Julia Biel, the Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra, and Cleveland Watkiss.
His band blends the warm sound of 60s and 70s blues rock with contemporary jazz flavours. Their original songs combine fast swing chords, free improvisations, psychedelic shuffles, and lazy, melancholic 12-bar blues cycles.
They will be playing songs from their new album, together with select blues-based classics. Inspired by Marco’s exploration of the ocean as a freediver, the new songs reflect on the current re-evaluation and understanding of the human condition and a search for the answers that are within us.
Words and sounds play with and combine the primordial resilience of the blues, the bursting anger of rock, and the freedom of jazz.
