UK-based guitarist and former member of The Jeff Beck Group, Nicolas Meier, has carved out a reputation as one of the world's most original and uniquely talented players.
Drawing from a love of Turkish, Eastern, and Middle Eastern music, as well as rock, flamenco, and tango, his versatility and musical fluency extend well beyond even that.
The Swiss-born artist has released twelve albums as a soloist and in various group formats, with 2017’s Infinity—released by Steve Vai’s Favored Nations Records—being a particular breakthrough.
He’s toured relentlessly over the last decade, including eleven dates opening for Steve Vai in support of his album Magnificent.
Now, he joins us with his World Group: Richard Jones on violin, Tom Mason on acoustic bass, Mike Horne on drums, and Nicolas himself on fretted and fretless guitar and glissentar.
“Meier’s scintillating playing on assorted fretted and fretless guitars is sometimes reminiscent of Metheny or McLaughlin but with a highly melodic, pan-Mediterranean eclecticism of his own”
“This album is not only a reminder of his time with Jeff Beck, but above all, proof that Meier’s creativity and imagination know no bounds!”
