PAMA INTERNATIONAL

We welcome Pama International—one of the UK’s finest ska and reggae bands—for a special evening celebrating the iconic Trojan Records songbook.

Their deep-rooted connection to Trojan Records dates back to 2006 when they became the first new band in 30 years to sign to the legendary record label. In 2016, they launched the official Trojan Records club night at The Social, and in 2018 they performed a sold-out Trojan Songbook UK tour.

Pama International now return with the Trojan Songbook Pt. 2 tour—a brand new show featuring unique interpretations of Trojan Records' back catalogue and material from their first reggae album in eight years, Return of the Unity Rockers. As a special treat, every customer attending the show will receive a free collectors' Trojan songbook.

From its launch in the summer of 1968, Trojan Records enjoyed no less than 36 major UK hits between 1969 and 1975, introducing the likes of Ken Boothe, Bob & Marcia, John Holt, Jimmy Cliff, and Dave & Ansel Collins to a global audience.

Pama International have released 18 albums, recorded numerous BBC sessions, featured on BBC 6 Music and France’s Radio Nova playlists, and been championed on the airwaves by the likes of David Rodigan, Steve Lamacq, Craig Charles, Gideon Coe, and Don Letts.

Their collective nature has seen them collaborate with artists such as Rico Rodriguez, Derrick Morgan, Dawn Penn, AJ Frankin, and Dennis Alcapone, as well as members of Galliano, Steel Pulse, Kasabian, The Swinging Cats, and the Paul Weller band.

The band built a huge following by touring with artists such as The Specials, Madness, Jimmy Cliff, Toots & The Maytals, and Prince Buster. Their reputation was further cemented with festival performances at Glastonbury, Womad, Boomtown, Beautiful Days, and Big Chill, sold-out shows at London’s 100 Club and Jazz Cafe, and the launch of their soul revue at Alexandra Palace in 2018.

As ever, their productions and taste are faultless
