Pokkisham is a London born singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer of Sri Lankan heritage . Her love of storytelling, set against jazz harmony, soulful vocals and intricate arrangements brings you into her world. Pokkisham means ‘treasure’, representing her Tamil heritage, as well as signifying the value of music on her life.

With a voice of real power and experience as a long term performing songwriter and musician, she is now in the flow of releasing here own cross-genre material full of soaring melodies and intimate grooves.

Pokkisham possesses a sense of curiosity and freedom that sets out to connect with her audiences wherever she plays. Pokkisham seeks to celebrate diversity both in the styles she works in and the stories she crafts through her lyrical prowess.

She has been steadily gaining the attention of the music industry, including Jazz FM and BBC Radio and numerous critics and reviewers with her recent singles as well as being supported by the F List which promotes more women writing, playing and producing within the UK music industry. She also now features as a musicologist regularly appearing on BBC6 Music with Huw Stephens.

Supported by an incredible live band, including acclaimed drummer Jimmy Norden, her live performances are an experience that aims to draw everyone in as part of a musical journey full of unexpected twists and turns.
