We’re delighted to welcome Stevie Watts back to The Bear Club with his own band, The Whirlybirds, after previously performing here as part of Connor Selby’s band and with Alice Armstrong.
Stevie was named Instrumentalist of the Year at the UK Blues Awards 2024 and is widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest Hammond organ players. He tours with Wille and the Bandits and has played alongside visiting American artists, including Grammy winner Mike Farris, Jimmy Carpenter, Lisa Mann, and Jade MacRae.
His UK-based trio features Grant Allardyce (drums) and Olly Knight Smith (guitar), plus powerhouse vocals from Shanade. Together, they deliver a powerful blend of vintage funk and deep soul-drenched grooves, driven by the unmistakable sound of the Hammond organ.
