The Thumping Tommys return for a rare summertime outing at The Bear bringing all their good time vibes (but perhaps with less mulled wine).
Formed in North London in 2012, this UK-based bluegrass and folk band has been wowing audiences ever since with their heady brew of barn-storming, blues-infused Irish, American, and English folk music.
Known for their original compositions, as well as unique cover versions of an eclectic mix of songs from the folk and blues canon, they have made their mark on the club and festival circuit all over Europe.
Now in their third incarnation, The Thumping Tommys released their second studio album of original music, The Sharp Turns of Life last year. Expect Dylan-esque ballads, thumping bluegrass, and devilish blues hooks—maybe even with a touch of The Pogues for the (summer) holiday season.
Featuring Benedict Amadeus Scrivener (vocals and guitar), Matt Redman (banjo, mandolin, accordion, piano, percussion, mandocello, and much more), Jennifer Sanin (bass and vocals), and Nathan Mansfield (violin).
