Christ-Stéphane Boizi is an exceptionally talented young trombonist, composer, and bandleader from South London, currently making waves in the UK jazz scene while completing an undergraduate degree at Trinity Laban.
An alumnus of the Tomorrow’s Warriors development programme, he has performed at renowned venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Pizza Express Soho, and the Jazz Café, and has shared the stage with prominent artists including Nathaniel Facey and Mark Kavuma. His music seamlessly blends hard bop, gospel, and contemporary jazz, creating a distinctive and dynamic sound.
With bold compositions and a commanding stage presence, Christ-Stéphane is emerging as an exciting new voice in jazz. Drawing inspiration from artists like Horace Silver and Jackie McLean, he is particularly influenced by Art Blakey and his iconic use of instrumentation with the Jazz Messengers.
His music reflects a deep connection to his Christian faith, conveying messages of hope and resilience that have become the hallmark of this dynamic artist. With his powerful sound and fresh approach, he is steadily establishing himself as a prominent new voice on the London jazz scene.
