We’re delighted to welcome saxophone player Maddy Coombs to The Bear - a Tomorrow’s Warriors Emerging Artist, who Jazzwise have already tipped as a rising talent on the British jazz scene.

Maddy has been mentored by Binker Golding, Denys Baptiste, and Gary Crosby, and has played alongside Judi Jackson, Soweto Kinch, Mark Kavuma, and Sultan Stevenson.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of exciting original music from London-based jazz pianist and composer, Jonny Liebeck. With his band of top young musicians, he will be performing tunes from his latest EP, Influences, featuring compositions inspired by contemporary jazz and electronic dance music genres such as jungle, breakbeat, and deep house.

Expect a fusion of soulful jazz harmony, luscious sound textures, lyrical guitar and sax melodies, groovy basslines, and intricate breakbeats to get you up on your feet.

Singer, songwriter, and musician Bryony Jarman-Pinto seamlessly blends enchanting vocals and thoughtful instrumentation with intricately crafted and personal lyrics. She sings from the jazz tradition but draws inspiration from soul and folk, all with a distinct and contemporary vibe.

Bryony’s second album, Below Dawn, navigates sentimental themes - from societal change and untapped emotions, to the profound journey of pregnancy and motherhood. This emotional depth is complemented by her distinctive infusion of jazz-inspired melodies.

One of the foremost jazz pianists of his generation, the superb Deschanel Gordon joins us for the first time leading his own band, after playing here with Tomorrow’s New Quartet and Donovan Haffner.

His music embodies swing, groove, and his Jamaican heritage, and his ability to navigate various styles and collaborate seamlessly makes him a standout figure in the contemporary UK jazz scene.

Hailing from Peru, saxophonist, flautist, and composer Allexa Nava has been making waves on the UK jazz scene for the last few years, both as an artist in her own right and as a member of the all-female Latin ensemble and festival favourites, Colectiva.

Her reputation as a bandleader and composer is set to soar following the release of her highly anticipated debut EP, No Language, on the influential Jazz Re:freshed label.

Alto saxophonist, Donovan Haffner, has been described as one of the best kept secrets on the London jazz scene, but if you caught his set at The Bear last November, you will already be well aware of his talent.

With the release of his debut album, Alleviate, he is about to become much better known, and we are delighted to welcome him back with his quintet.
