New Orleans-born, London-based soul artist Acantha Lang has drawn comparisons to legends like Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight. Her debut album Beautiful Dreams reached #3 on the Official UK Jazz & Blues Albums Chart and #14 on the Official UK Independent Album Breakers Chart. The record earned 5-star reviews from Echoes and Soul Bag, and won Lang the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award for New Artist of the Year.
Lang has captivated audiences worldwide, from her US television debut on CBS Saturday Morning to a standout performance at SXSW, as well as sold-out shows across Europe and the Canary Islands. She was invited as a special guest with the Memphis Soul Revue at Barbican Centre, performing alongside the Queen of Memphis Soul Carla Thomas, GRAMMY®-winning producer Boo Mitchell, and Al Green’s legendary band.
A Grammy-nominated songwriter for Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Lang’s music has surpassed 7.7 million streams and has been featured on major Spotify playlists including All Funked Up, Best Retro Songs, and Best Funk Songs. She continues to receive strong support from BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, and Jazz FM, and is currently recording her second album, due for release in late 2026.
Acantha joins us with her band as part of our Soulful Sundays series, taking place across Sunday afternoons and early evenings this spring and summer.
There will also be DJ sets from both Richie Tee and Lee Drummond.
