The Hanging Stars have been making total waves in the cosmic country world ever since they burst onto the London scene with their unique blend of sun-dappled West Coast Americana and distinctly British folksy psychedelia - all shimmering twelve-string guitars, twangy telecasters, and four-part vocal harmonies.
They picked up the coveted Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award at the AMAUK awards, crossed the Atlantic to play to a packed room at Third Man’s Blue Room in Nashville, with owner Jack White approvingly looking on, and in 2025, they produced a widely-acclaimed collaboration with Canadian folk maven Bonnie Dobson.
They played an awesome set here back in November 2023, and we’re thrilled to welcome them back.
Featuring Richard Olson (guitar & vocals), Paulie Cobra (drums), Patrick Ralla (guitar & keyboard), and Paul Milne (bass).
Support is from Bedford's Simon Gutteridge, aka Sunsinger & the High Seas. Rooted firmly in alt-country and Americana but with a hint of pop, they have previously opened for acts such as Willy Mason, The Deep Dark Woods, The Wedding Present, Ben Ottewell (Gomez), and Ian McCulloch, as well as The Hanging Stars the last time they played here.
“Glowing, cosmic UK Americana... a set of epic soundtracks conjuring kindred spirits Teenage Fanclub and The Velvets”
“This is music for those who want to turn everything off and be immersed. If you end up surrendering to your own dreams, that’s okay. Just press play again”
