Kenny Wheeler Jazz Prize winner Jonny Mansfield is critically regarded as one of the UK’s most original jazz voices.
Nominated for an Ivor Novello Award and a Parliamentary Jazz Award, and the recipient of the Tebbut Exhibition Award, Richard Turner Award, and the Royal Academy of Music’s Principal’s Prize, he signed to Edition Records to release his debut album Elftet.
His second album, The Air in Front of You, received wide acclaim for its blend of introspection and ensemble interplay. Now, he returns with his latest album, Light Finds a Way In, which was released last November.
Jonny has performed with a remarkable range of artists, including Chris Potter, Gwilym Simcock, Nikki Iles, Byron Wallen, and Kit Downes, while also leading his own acclaimed projects. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, he’s equally at home on vibraphone, percussion, piano, and synths.
The quartet features some of the finest young musicians on the London scene: Jonny Mansfield (vibes), Will Barry (piano), Will Sach (bass), and Luke McCarthy (drums).
“The sheer originality his music exudes...”

“The interplay between the musicians is exemplary, with seamless shifting between composed music and improvisation working extremely well”
