Luton-born jazz drummer Olly Sarkar-Samuels returns to The Bear with a new quartet comprising some of the UK scene’s finest players, namely Alex Garnett on tenor saxophone, Gareth Fowler on guitar, and Will Sach on double bass. They will be playing some new repertoire, along with choice jazz standards.
Olly came up through the ranks of the Luton music scene. Now based in London, he has established himself as an in-demand drummer and educator, teaching at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
His recent highlights include European and international dates with saxophonists Chelsea Carmichael and Nubya Garcia, and Franco-American pianist Tom Sochas, at New York Winter Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Roma Jazz Festival, Jazz à la Villiette, and venues including Flagey Brussels, Birdland Hamburg, Fasching Stockholm, Earth Theatre Hackney, and Cité de la Musique Paris.
