Luton-born Olly Sarkar-Samuels returns to The Bear with a new project showcasing the talents of New York-based tenor saxophone maestro Vittorio Mura together with some of the UK scene’s finest players.
Olly came up through the ranks of the Luton Music Service and, now based in London, has established himself as an in demand jazz drummer and educator teaching at TrinityLaban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
Recent gig highlights include European and International dates with saxophonists Chelsea Carmichael, Nubya Garcia & Franco-American pianist Tom Sochas, which have featured at New York Winter Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Roma Jazz Festival, Jazz à la Villiette & venues such as Flagey Brussels, Birdland Hamburg, Fasching Stockholm, Earth Theatre Hackney & Cité de la Musique Paris.
Tonight Olly is bringing an exciting quartet featuring Vitorrio Mura (tenor saxophone), Gareth Fowler (guitar) Will Sach (double bass) with Olly on drums.
The quartet will be playing some new repertoire and some choice jazz standards.
