TAHIRAH MEMORY

We’re delighted to welcome Tahirah Memory back to The Bear to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her hugely successful debut album, Pride.

Tahirah is a singer-songwriter known for her powerful vocals and emotive performances, blending R&B, jazz, and soul influences. With her dynamic tones, soulful melodies, and cryptic but honest references, she has the uncanny ability to relate to an audience using her voice—creatively and musically expressing feelings behind songs in ways that delight, surprise, and move.

With roots in jazz through her Grammy-winning father, a chaotic upbringing, an intense sense of feel, a love for old soul, an open ear for all music, and a respect for current rhythm and blues, Tahirah's sound is unlike any other, sounding distinctly like her personal truth.

The 2015 release of her debut album created a huge buzz amongst soul music lovers in Europe. It achieved frequent radio play in the UK, topped the UK Soul Chart, and garnered international support, along with support from the famed music outlet Soul Brother Records.

The release of her second album, Asha, led to SoulTracks nominations for 'Best Female Vocalist', 'Best Album', and 'Best Song', for her lyric-focused and vocal-rich original compositions.

Tahirah has toured the US and beyond as a background vocalist for long-time vocal icon KD Lang, and in partnership with Jarrod Lawson, as well as a frontwoman on her own successful state-side performances, and sold-out tours in the UK.

Most recently, Tahirah was featured in the 2022 PDX Jazz Fest, opening for headliner Robert Glasper. She sang alongside Eric Benét at the 2022 Vanport Jazz Festival, and was an artist on the 2023 Capital Jazz Supercruise.
