THEO TRAVIS’ DOUBLE TALK

Theo Travis has appeared on over 250 albums and played at Ronnie Scott’s more than 75 times, and his many musical interests come together in this distinctive project.

A member of the classic band Soft Machine for 20 years, Theo has also worked with Robert Fripp, David Gilmour, David Sylvian, Steven Wilson, and John Etheridge. He’s performed all over the world and released two critically acclaimed albums with Double Talk.

The band is touring in 2026 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Theo’s classic album, Secret Island. Expect an evening of passionate music and haunting instrumental songs from one of Britain’s top saxophonists and flautists.

Featuring Theo Travis (tenor/soprano saxes, flute), Mike Outram (guitar), Pete Whittaker (Hammond organ), Rick Finlay (drums), and Marc Cecil (percussion).

One of the very best young tenor saxophonists of this or any other jazz generation in Britain
— BBC Radio 2
Travis’s tenor is a warm, mellifluous instrument and together with the luscious, bluesy Hammond organ they create something rather unexpected... a prog-rock/jazz/blues hybrid album of genuine power and excitement
— Guy Hayden, BBC Music
Wonderfully trippy… this is a rare, fine English psychedelic jazz
