VASILIS XENOPOULOS & PAUL EDIS QUARTET

Vasilis Xenopoulos and Paul Edis are both very well known at The Bear, but this will be the first time they have played here together with their jointly-led quartet.

They began playing together over 20 years ago, when they had both relocated to West London to study. Originally from Greece, Vasilis had just finished studying at Berklee College in the US, whilst Paul had moved down from North East England.

In the intervening years, they’ve played numerous gigs together and released their first album, A Narrow Escape, to critical acclaim. Their latest recording, Feels Like Home, features original music inspired by the many places they’ve called home over the years.

The album received glowing reviews from around the world and was accompanied by a UK tour. At once both fresh and swinging, Feels Like Home combines a contemporary approach to the finest traditions of the post-bop jazz quartet.

Featuring Paul Edis (piano), Vasilis Xenopoulos (saxophone), Mirko Scarcia (bass), and Billy Pod (drums).
