We’re delighted to welcome the multi-award-winning US soul singer Gina Sedman back to The Bear. She’ll be performing original music, including songs from her new album, 1972, and from last year’s acclaimed release, Valuable People.
Gina is a prolific and internationally renowned recording artist with an extensive career spanning over 30 years. She has written, produced, and recorded 17 albums, many single releases, and five #1 hits on the UK soul music chart. She also won Best Soul/R&B Single at the Bright Star Awards 2020 with her hit "My Destiny."
Among many memorable live performances, she has opened a show for Rose Royce in LA and featured on Dave Lee’s hit album Produced With Love II. She and her band have played at the St. Neots Festival, and guested with jazz fusion supergroup Cong-Fusion at London’s Temple of Art and Music and Pizza Express Live.
The hit single, "Smile", from her last album was played on several leading UK radio stations, including BBC Radio London, and secured a spot on the Jazz FM DAB Radio Station Playlist where presenters such as Robbie Vincent, Danielle Perry, Simon Phillips, Yolanda Brown, and John Osborne shared Gina’s inspiring music with their audiences.
She joins us with her UK band, featuring Ryan McCaffrey (keys), Tiago Coimbra (bass), Joe Taylor (drums), Chris Diamand (guitar), and Andrew ‘Prone’ Sedman (percussion).
To get the party started (and then to keep it going!), there will be a DJ set by Paul Hyatt before and after the main act.
